Muay Thai vs. Mixed Martial Arts
A large number of MMA and UFC stars of today have extensive Muay Thai back grounds and Muay Thai champions such as Ray Sefo have made smooth transitions in the UFC and MMA fight leagues by dominating their opponents with superior striking skills.
One of the key components that set Muay Thai apart from MMA is that its fighters fight from a standing position.. There are no wrestling or submission moves involved in Muay Thai and clinches are held to a minimum. This is why a fighter like Thai legend Buakaw Por Pramuk is a revered name not only in the Muay Thai community but in all Martial Arts world as well. It truly is a Warrior Sport as America will soon discover.
