Daniel Cormier can bounce back from a busted hand because he’s the Wolverine.
If he was a mere mortal and not a (fictional) superhero character, he
might have been forced to bow out of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand
prix finals in which he meets Josh Barnett.
“Because I am Wolverine, I was able to get the cast off,” Cormier joked during Monday’s new edition of HDNet’s “Inside MMA.”

Three main-card bouts have been added to Strikeforce’s June 18 event, which already features two opening-round matchups in the organization’s heavyweight grand prix.
The Showtime-televised event marks the long-awaited return of Gina Carano, who meets an opponent to be announced.
Additionally, heavyweight bouts of Shane Del Rosario vs. Daniel Cormier and Valentijn Overeem vs. Chad Griggs have been added.
