WEF Media, Inc. announced the acquisition of the world wide, all-media rights to World Extreme Fighting Championships (WEF).

WEF Media, Inc, a recently created corporation whose partners include CEO Ivan Gulas, Jamie Levine; WEF Founder, noted Las Vegas show producer John Stuart and event producer Chris MacNeill. WEF Media’s production partners include: Thom Beers and Original Productions; producers of the acclaimed television series “Monster Garage” and “Monster House,” MAX Post and O’Merch LLC, a merchandise and licensing company whose clients include: TV & Film Production Companies, TV Networks and on-camera talent.

WEF Media’s goal is to invigorate the WEF and to recapture its position as a dominant force in the global Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) sporting world. WEFM will continue to support WEF’s long standing international focus by assisting the organization attract and showcase the very best fighters, male and female, from every corner of the world.

World Extreme Fighting, (WEF) is the second oldest Mixed Marital Arts (MMA) organization incorporated in the U.S. after The Ultimate Fighting Championships. World Extreme Fighting Championships, owner and CEO Jamie Levine Jamie Levine has been a pioneer in the creation of MMA as a sanctioned sport in the U.S. He is champion fighter, an inductee in ‘The World Martial Arts Hall of Fame’ and a Pan American Silver medalist for Ju-Jitsu. He has introduced MMA fighting at events thought the U.S and abroad, recruited and trained fighters, and won victories legal battles for the sport. Levine is a noted instructor as well, and has trained such world champions as Rodrigo Nogueira, (heavyweight champion for WEF and Pride), Tommy “Trauma” Sauer (light heavyweight champ of WEF and Super Brawl) and Din Thomas (light weight champ 4 times for WEF/UFC) to name a few.

WEF was a pioneer in the MMA PPV presentation in Brazil. Since 2001, WEF has been focusing primarily on promoting live fights throughout the United Sates. WEF Media has an aggressive agenda to showcase WEF World Class MMA Championship fights on all media platforms including: domestic and international TV, live global broadband broadcasting in multiple languages and streaming to mobile wireless devices. WEF Media has also helped to give the WEF a presence in Las Vegas where they now holding bi-monthly championship fights at the Orleans Arena. In addition to the live event, a reality series in is the pre-production stages.

WEF Media is headed by Dr. Ivan Gulas, a seasoned entertainment, new media and entertainment technology executive, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He had been Co-Chairman of Pacific Title/Mirage Studios, one of Hollywood’s oldest and most respected post production and digital studios, founder and CEO of the Vegas TV Channel, and had been named by WIRED as one of 25 people reinvesting Hollywood. PRIDE 34: KAMIKAZE DVD

The PRIDE 34: KAMIKAZE DVD. PRIDE Shockwave 2006 was a mixed martial arts event held by PRIDE Fighting Championships on December 31, 2006. In Japan, this event was called PRIDE Otoko Matsuri 2006: Fumetsu means “immortal” or “undying.” The main event was scheduled to be heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko defending his heavyweight championship against the winner of the Absolute Grand Prix, but Mirko Filipovic was recovering from foot surgery he underwent on October 26th and could not fight at Shockwave. Josh Barnett, the Absolute Grand Prix runner up, was also a contender to face Emelianenko, as mentioned by the heavyweight champion in a PRIDE 32 post-fight press conference, but was “not in the best condition” to compete. Instead, Fedor was said to be defending his title against Mark Hunt. The event featured a mix of full PRIDE rules and Bushido rules, with the 160 pound and 183 pound fighters fighting under Bushido’s rules. The sole exception however is the fight between Minowa and Tamura, as both had requested to fight under full PRIDE rules as well as fight in the opening fight of the night.
