Mixed Martial Arts(MMA) is definitely one of the fastest growing sports in world, however, many individuals still ignorant anything about this. The most important fight promotion on the planet must be Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). This is often what a lot of people think of if they listen to MMA. However, to the more devote MMA fans, UFC is merely one of the many fight organizations.It may be confusing to the lay person, especially now. The UFC just merged with its sister fight promotion the WEC. When it first started the WEC had any of the normal fight weights. Though as time passes previously thinned out into the hardly any guys that fought inside the 135, 145, and 155 pound weight classes. With the addition of a typical WEC into the UFC, the UFC will now have two more weight classes. They will even be able to see if the best in the 155lb division are really the most effective or shall be challenged from the WEC fighters.This is clearly not the first merger of the UFC. Some time ago they merged with Pride Fighting. Pride Fighting back then was a Japanese fighting organization. They also did MMA, though a few of their rules were somewhat different. Including, they fought inside of a ring, allowed striking by the head when one fighter was standing and also the other was on the floor so their time limits were set up a little different. Repeatedly fighters that got cut from the UFC would go fight in Pride or Pride fighters would come and fight inside the UFC. Since their merger there’s no Pride Fighting anymore.These would be not the exclusive fight organizations out there today. Strikeforce and Bellator are only a range of the bigger organizations out there. Strikeforce and also the UFC seem to have been known to not get along. This is due to their fighters are under contract to only effort for their promotions. When joint ventures have been suggested, things have not exercised so all right either side. This is not uncommon for fighters to jump organizations when their contracts are up.The only real downside of this can be the fans try not to get to discover many of the top fighters on the earth go up against each other. All they ll be equipped to do is argue back plus forth who the better fighter is. Overall, this is good given it fosters a healthy competition related to the fight promotions.

April 8, 2011Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley is an upcoming mixed martial arts event held by Strikeforce. The event is expected to take place on April 9, 2011 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California

This will be the first “Arena Series” event under Zuffa management.

This event was originally expected to feature Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum and Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers, the two remaining quarter-final fights in the Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament. Both the event and the fights were listed on Strikeforce’s official site. However, on March 2, 2011, Scott Coker confirmed the bouts were being moved to the Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum event to be held in Dallas, Texas on June 18th.

KJ Noons was expected to make his return to lightweight on this card. However, a bout did not materialize.

Mike Kyle was scheduled to face Gegard Mousasi. However, on March 31, 2011, it was announced Kyle had to withdraw from the bout due to a broken hand.[5] Keith Jardine has agreed to step in on one week’s notice to fight Mousasi.
