UFC Fight Night 24: Johnson insists he’ll make weight, Hardy says he doesn’t care

Some fighters take it as a sign of disrespect when their opponents miss
weight. Fans certainly don’t like it, and promoters generally aren’t
amused, either.
Athletic commissions not only don’t like it, they hit a fighter where it really hurts – the pocketbook.
But one-time title challenger Dan Hardy, who meets
massive weight-cutter Anthony Johnson on Saturday at
UFC Fight Night 24, doesn’t really care one way or the other. Johnson said he’ll make the limit, but Hardy said he’s fighting either way.

Mike “Joker” Guymon apparently has avoided his walking papers for now.
Fellow welterweight DaMarques Johnson recently posted news of an upcoming fight with the veteran at a currently unannounced Jan. 22 UFC event.
As MMAjunkie.com previously reported, the event is expected to take place in conjunction with Fort Hood in Texas, likely as a “UFC Fight for the Troops” event as UFC Fight Night 23.

Prior to his fight at this past weekend’s “Strikeforce: Houston” event -
just a week prior, in fact – Daniel Cormier also competed in a King of
the Cage title fight.
