XFight and USMF Presents “WAR of the HEROES”
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 6, 2008 The United States Muaythai Federation (USMF) and XFight Promotions proudly presents “WAR of the HEROES”, a Muay Thai fighting event featuring five championship title bouts held in the heart of Silicon Valley. “WAR of the HEROES” will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 from the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Winners of the five title bouts will be offered a spot on Team USA which will represent the United States of America at the 2008 International Federation of Muaythai Amateurs World Championships to be held later this fall in Busan, South Korea.
“Our goal is to make Muay Thai an Olympic sport and the fighters who win their championship bouts at the WAR of the HEROES event will get a chance to compete as part of Team USA at the Busan TAFISA World Sport for All Games, an event featuring hundreds of athletes from around the world competing in dozens of sports and, most importantly, held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee,” said Anthony Lin, President of the USMF.
The art of Muay Thai, the national sport of Thailand, was prominently featured on mixed martial arts’ live debut on major network television and has become synonymous for effective stand-up striking. This ancient martial art is growing in popularity for its direct and practical application in combat sports.
The Muay Thai championship fights feature Fairtex fighter Dino Pagtakhan versus Kohei Kawachima in a matchup of 155-pound fighters. Eric Utsch squares off against Nicholas Nguyen for the 165-pound championship. Other fighters fighting for a title include: Ryan Ratcliffe, Vishnu Gulati, Shane Oblonskey, Jessie Margusen and Borzoo Honarohar.
“XFight is very honored to be able to take part in the rejuvenation of Muay Thai fighting events in the Bay Area and look forward to holding regular events for fans of the world’s best striking martial art,” said Michael Borbet, President of XFight Promotions.
The event is sponsored by the energy drink company, Red Bull, makers of its namesake beverage “that gives you wings”, exotic beer maker, Singha Beer, makers of Thailand’s number one premier beer and Fairtex, the world leader in Muay Thai apparel, training gear and fighting gyms.
XFight Promotions — WAR of the HEROES starts at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.) at the Santa Clara Convention Center located at 5001 Great American Parkway, Santa Clara, CA 95054 this Saturday, June 21, 2008. WCK Muaythai Presents “USA vs China” Championship Fights at Las Vegas Hilton August 30, 2009
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) August 19, 2009 After the enormous success of the World Championship MuayThai that took place at the Las Vegas Hilton on July 25th, 2009, Dennis Warner and Henan TV Station are staging an unprecedented international face-off between the top stars of WuLinFeng, the most popular martial arts show in China and the top-dog Muay Thai fighters from the United States.
WuLinFeng, the number one fighting organization in China, which mainly employs the Wushu art, landed on Henan TV Station Satellite Channel in 2004, and has, since then, boasted a ten million viewer audience per episode. As the World Championship MuayThai fighters come into the ring, they will employ either WBC or the WuLinFeng rules, with the most distinctive differences being: no elbows allowed in WuLinFeng, limited clinch in WuLinFeng, fighter, falling down or being thrown down on the floor counts as an effective strike, and five three-minute rounds in WBC vs three three-minute rounds in WuLinFeng.
“The relationship with Henan TV Station is a strategic partnership for both organizations. For us, bringing Chinese athletes to the Unites States, does not only add a cultural aspect to the event, it also raises the bar for every fighter, if we take into account that China holds the first place in the number of the Olympic medals and is the birthplace of martial arts”, commented Dennis Warner, the President of In Sync Productions. He added: “For Henan TV Station, the expansion of WuLinFeng, the biggest promoter of martial arts in China into the large American Chinese community is the main focus, and there’s no better ground than World Championship MuayThai to do so.”
The muay thai night will be presented by the following match-ups:
The finalists of the above mentioned bouts will have the privilege of fighting in the international championship, which will take place in legendary ShaoLin Temple, China in October of this year. The event will be a tribute to the 20-year long career of Dennis Warner in the muay thai industry, and his unparalleled contribution to the development of the sport worldwide.
For tickets, please visit the Las Vegas Hilton box office, http://www.vegas.com or Ticketmaster.com, fight info: 877-446-7962.

Sanda vs Muay Thai Guangzhou, China 75kgs Punching, kicking, knees, elbows & throws. Elbow pads worn. Clinch time is shorter than standard Muay Thai match. This is Round 1 & 2. This was last match of the first China vs Thailand where elbows were allowed (elbow pads were worn though). Liu Hailong was former Sandawang. The Thai’s name was given as Phinit Somphet in the match but on a website his name was given as Lukpoei Grabangkoei. Several people have identified him as Robert Kaenorrasing and I think it is him as well so I’ve edited the name for this clip. |
